C24 speed using a 9.9 kicker

Has anyone tested the max speed over ground obtainable using a 9.9 on a C24 ? Can it reach 8-9 MPH?

As an owner of an R23, which (I believe) is a couple hundred pounds lighter, and a foot or so shorter... my max recorded is about 7 MPH at WOT (SOG at about slack, no wind, calm seas, full fuel, half water, 2 souls). Most often it's about 5-6, depending on conditions.

Wondered about re-propping. Not that I need more speed, but is the stock prop the best for the 9.9? Maybe I'll look into that... unless anyone has input. 😀

Thanks, That's about what I expected. I plan to use it on the river with a 2-3 MPH current so I could get close to 10. Otherwise I can run the 250 Yamaha and get 4+ MPG at 10 MPH.

The R27-OB with the 9.9 kicker maxes out around 5.5 knots. At WOT, it burns 1gph per the service manual.

I'm looking to put a tachometer on my 9.9 kicker and then play with prop sizing. Not sure it'll matter.
