I have new 2021 C28, bought in MD, went out for about 6 days there and trucked boat to Maine. When I took possession of boat in Maine, the crossover switch was on. It had always been off in MD. With the crossover switch off, no power is available for GPS, VHF, nav buttons, windlass, cabin lights, fridge, engine hatch; however, there is power for cook top, microwave, and A/C. This occurs with or without shore power. What is going on? Thank you, Nevis

I have a 2014 c28 cutwater. On this years model (unsure about your 2021) there is a 120 circuit breaker at the back of the small cabinet underneath the stove. It's a pain in the rear to get to and I really don't understand why they put it in such an inhospitable location. You might check that breaker. Although, rereading your note, it doesn't explain having power to the microwave. If that breaker is popped, you should have no power to the microwave? Cook top and A/c may be 12 volt...

I think you need to go back to the boat and go over the electrical system again. I will post a brief summery of the system switches.

Battery switches
House battery switch* must be on to power all 12V systems for GPS, VHF, nav buttons, windlass, cabin lights, fridge, engine hatch........

Cross over switch * connects the engine battery to the house battery bank. Think of this switch as your jumper cables in the event the engine battery bank is depleted, or you need to "excite" the house battery bank batteries in the event the house bank batteries were depleted. This switch normal position should be in the off position unless needed for the above reasons.

Engine battery switch* this switch is only for the engine.

Inverter battery switch* This is the battery switch that connects the house bank to the inverter. If the inverter is not in use I keep this switch in the off position. The C28 has a inverter only and a battery charger only it is not a combination unit.

Note: the battery banks can be used for 24/7 12V users but the uses are not controlled by the switches.

120 V system is powered by three sources Shore power, inverter, and generator.

Shore power and generator will power the complete 120 V panel. The inverter should only have power going to the outlets and Microwave. The only way that there could be available power to all circuits using the inverter is if someone had changed the wiring in the 120 volt panel. If this was done extreme caution needs to be used when using the inverter to prevent overloading the inverter.

My summary to you thread question.

If all 12 volt users do not work with the cross over switch off and house switch on. Your house bank was left on while the boat was in transit. The house bank is now dead. Turning the crossover switch on now is connecting the engine battery bank to the house bank and all house accessories have 12V. Turn the cross over switch off now battery at the house bank. The house bank needs to be charged and then have the batteries checked .

If the boat is not plugged into shore power, the generator is not running I have no idea how you can have full 12 volts going to the panel and have the capability to operate the stove top, 1100w, Microwave 1100W, and the air unit which needs just over 2000W to operate. Do you have the new lithium battery system installed with high output inverter ? I did not know Fluid Motion offered that in the discontinued C28.

I think you need to read the owners manual and look at the electrical system. This will explain the different circuits better. Go over each system while on board to familiarize yourself. Once you have done that you will have a better understanding. The systems are simple but if you are not familiar with them they can overwhelm you.

The problem turned out to be blown terminal fuse on house battery. Never seen one before. Replaced: all good. Thank you for your helpful responses. Nevis

I would try to figure out why that fuse blew. Kind of scary.
