C28 Garmin Fuel Quantity/Flow

Hi, I recently topped off my fuel tank for the first time since buying the boat. I reset the quantity to 100 gallons, but it doesn’t count down accurately because the Garmin isn’t reading/displaying fuel flow.

Any suggestions?

I'd need some more info to understand if this could be the cause, but on our C28, I need to start the Garmin chartplotter, let it boot up all the way, then start the autopilot, and finally turn on the ignition. If I turn on the ignition before the 2 Garmins are up and running, it will not read the engine data at all on the Garmin.

Hello George,

Is the fuel data 0.00 mile per gallon or is it showing _ _ _ miles per gallon?

The boot-up issue that was described about should be address with the latest software update.

Thanks, that helped. While we’re at it, how about things like water temp, trim tab position. Those aren’t indicated either.

Yup. Garmin needs to be powered up first, and garmin needs powered down last.
