C28 in blue water

All boating has been mostly calm conditions. The San Juan's, Gulf Islands with good weather. Now in San Francisco bay and planning on salmon fishing out under the gate for perhaps 30 to 40 miles. Any C28 owners out there willing to share experiences regarding how it handles rough water? I always check the weather, however, stuff happens.
 
Their are much smaller boats out there than yours at Duxbury on the good days. Check the wind and tides and plan around them
 
Have you made it out to open water yet in your new 28. We are looking at getting one as well and would like to know how it handles the waters out side the gate.
