I noted the 302 has a double step hull and the C30 has a single step.
Why is that?

Where did you find the hull diagrams and detailed specs.? I've never been able to locate them.

Yes, fuel efficiency is a major issue and there are many conversations on the topic. Some of us are on the list for Sharrow Props and I'll be trying drop fins for the Bennett trim tabs as well. The 4 blade Power Tech props have limited improvement according to what I have read here. I canceled my order for a pair since the factory couldn't deliver after waiting 3 months. At $2K each, Sharrow would be well worth the investment if they work...if not, 90 days to S* Can.

Looking at pictures of the bottom of the hulls, the 302 has two steps, C30 has one.
I have no specs, just youtube and pictures.

The main differences between the two boats are speed and weight distribution. The 302 goes way, way faster. My understanding of the hull differences is that when testing they had to modify the 302 hull to accommodate the much faster speed. The CW30 goes 27 wot with a tailwind and the 302 will go 45 so a huge difference. Maybe the 2 steps is because of this?

As it was explained to me, the steps are there to inject air under the hull to reduce drag. Different hulls, different missions. The 302 is faster, in smooth water you can feel it come up on each step. The 302 is certainly fast, fun and maneuverable, but I think I prefer the more solid/stable ride of the 30.
