Cabin and Deck Sole

Is the teak an holly sole a factory option on all Ranger Tug sizes? I've seen the carpet option. What are your thoughts about this versus a painted non skid deck?

Kind of depends on how you use your boat. If you are only going to spill white wine, cheese and crackers then the carpet/ holly is great, quiet, warm and comfy. If you are going to be tracking fish scales in the interior of your boat that is something else again. Most folks don't walk around when the weather is really rough so the non skid is not a big issue for safety I think. When we are fishing shoes don't go from the cockpit to the cabin in my boat.

Is there a difference between the teak & holly carpet runner and the actual teak & holly sole? Or, is what I'm seeing on the Ranger Tug website photos of the carpet runner? Because it appears like a hard reflective surface in some photos.

I think a painted non-skid deck will cheapen up the looks of the interior. The carpet will stain from red wine and such and the wood can dent and chip. There is no perfect product. I replaced mine with a wood finish vinyl. There is also a product called PlasTeak https://www.plasteak.com/tag/boat-decking. That I considered, but for now decided on the vinyl wood floor.

We have a teak and holly sole with a carpet runner over it. The carpet is removable for cleaning. I believe that is standard equipment.
