We have a 2007 C25 Ranger. Just inside the cabin door. On the starboard side. There are 2 rocker switches. Can someone tell me what those switches operate? One turns on some cabin lights the other does nothing when switched on and off.

On our RT25SC the other switch turns on the overhead cockpit light right outside the door.

Correct, Chimo. Note that both switches are subject to the wires that bring the power to their back pulling off their terminals. One switch may do nothing because its wire has pulled off.

We have no outdoor cockpit light. Is there any other thing this switch might operate?

Well, before going crazy figuring out what the switch may work, pull it out and see if it has wires going to it and if they came off the terminals. One complaint I have had about Ranger is they leave very little, if any, slack in the wires and there have been instances of wires coming off the terminal. If the wires were disconnected then once connected you may be able to see what the switch turns on.

I removed the switch. The ground was connected. The hot wire was removed and taped, but it was still hot. The load wire removed and also taped. I briefly connected the to. No sparks. It appears the load side does not complete the Circuit. Which still leaves me not knowing where it leads.

The back deck cockpit light is small and dim, only can be noticed at night.

I have a 2007 R25 (C25). Originally there was only one switch on mine that operated the cabin lights. I added a second to operate a light I installed in the cockpit over the door. The 'original' cockpit lights are wired to a helm switch and to a switch next to the aft cockpit access door. I replaced the bulbs with leds and they are much brighter. I also added blue led strips under the cockpit 'ledges'. Very nice effect.

2007 is really the first year for the R25. I have hull #7. They were making changes quickly over those first few years, so I can't guarantee the second switch wasn't factory installed, but it is unlikely in my opinion that it was. It was probably put in place as a modification at some point. Definitely interested in hearing what you find.

Do the wires run up or down? The only wires that run up are for the head overhead light, again unless there was a modification. The wiring for all of the cabin lights come up the starboard side behind the starboard porthole shelves. So the cabin switch wires run down and under the head, not up.
