On our prior R-25 Classic we installed a BUGOFFSCREEN at the cabin door. The sides attached to the door frame with Velcro. Two magnets held the door shut. At the top it was held in place by a spring rod whose ends sat in little brass cups I installed. When purchasing we ordered slightly larger than the door frame as the instructions suggested and it was delivered a bit larger than we could have used.
It worked ok but the magnets didn’t always close properly without a bit of an assist. It did keep most bugs out of the cabin and let us keep the cabin door open for ventilation. Vicki loved it and I was ok with it.
For our C-28, the spring rod at the top would not work. We needed a Velcro fastening screen that attached on both sides and the top. So we ordered a Yotache Customized Magnetic Screen on Amazon. It was much less expensive than the BUGOFFSCREEN. Like the BUGOFFSCREEN, the ordering instructions said to order a bit larger than the door frame dimensions. The screen arrived last month and has been in place for a month now. After going through it several dozen times I am loving it! This screen features center magnetic pieces that run the full length of the opening. They work very, very well in closing the screen after each transit through the screen. The Velcro fasteners required taking off the existing loop Velcro for the privacy door canvas (which we never use) and installing the hook side Velcro to the door frame. Took about 10 minutes to install. Tip: order the door frame size plus 1/2” that’s all the “extra” you would need. The top of the screen above the opening is reinforced and looks pretty strong.
If you are thinking of getting a cabin door bug screen I recommend the Yotache screen.

AL,
I also have a C28 and would love to get the screen door that you suggested. When I looked on Amazon, several options were available. Would you be so kind as to post exactly what I should order.

Bill,
We bought this one with middle center opening:
Yotache Customized Magnetic... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YXZ46KT?re ... b_ap_share

I measured our cabin door frame as Outside edge 21 1/4” by 71 3/8” and Inside edge 19 1/8” by 69 1/4”
I’d recommend using the outside edge measurements plus 1/2” wider and taller or 21.7” by 71.8” if your door frame is the same as ours. We went 22”x72” and it was a bit big in both dimensions.

Al,
Do you leave the screen up all the time, or take it down when not in use? If left up all the time, would it be better to have the opening on the side where the door handle is as opposed to the center?

We keep our screen installed full time. With the door open it’s easy to put a hand out to break the magnetic seam when going in or out. Not very hard to put hand through the magnetic seam to get to the door handle as well.
I thought about going with the vertical magnetic seam offset to the handle side rather than centered but decided against it just because I was comfortable with using the center magnetic seam that we had before with the BUGOFFSCREEN. Not having used the handle sided off centered magnetic seam I can’t tell you which would be better.
