Cabin Reading light stuck

I was turning one of my cabin reading lights on and off and it got 'stuck' when I pressed it upwards. Fortunately it was in the 'off' state at the time, so it's not stuck illuminated.

See linked picture for a side be side comparison of the lamp on the left stuck 'up' and the lamp on the right in normal operating position. Any advice on how to repair the 'stuck' lamp?

That plate that holds the light can be removed by rotating it counter clockwise a few degrees. The light will be accessible at that point.
