I am evaluating the C28 for short term over night cruising in the Southern New England area and have a question concerning the layout of the forward cabin cabinetry and the degree to which the factory might be willing to customize it. I have noticed that with the Northwest Edition there is a small hanging locker with adjacent cabinetry that includes a small sink, a microwave and a coffee maker. This version of the boat comes with a gas stovetop and oven in the galley. The Luxury Edition, on the other hand, comes with a bench seat in the forward cabin in lieu of the hanging locker and cabinets. This edition also comes with a generator as well as a two burner gas cooktop and microwave under in the galley. Because my wife and I always need to bring hanging cloths with us when we are out cruising, we really need a hanging locker like the Northeast Edition has and perhaps a little larger, but we would also prefer to have the microwave in the galley area. Since the boat has a generator, we would actually prefer to have a two burner glass induction cooktop with a microwave under in the galley and a single seat or additional cabinetry for folded clothing next to the hanging locker in the forward cabin. So, my question is would Cutwater be willing to make these changes while manufacturing a c28 if I place an order?
I would also offer a suggestion regarding the dual configuration Cutwater currently offers. It seems to me that standarizing the cabinets in the forward cabin for both the Northwest and Luxury Editions would simplify production and reduce costs. Likewise, if not already the case, it might be possible to standardize the galley cabinets so they can accommodate the gas oven and stovetop combination or the mictrowave with either the gas or electric cooktops on the countertop.
Whether or not Cutwater would consider my standardization suggestion, I am most interested in finding out whether Cutwater would be able to make the production changes I am interested in on a new C28. At minimum, woiuld it be possible to order a Luxury Edition with the forward cabin cabinet layout that normally comes with the Northwest Edition and with a microwave convection oven under a glass induction coocktop in the galley?
Thank you for considering my request.
