Should the fuel gauge on the Yamaha CY6 digital display have been calibrated upon delivery? I noticed on our trip today that the fuel display level did not move. In order to recalibrate, it says the fuel tank should be empty in order to reset it. I'm not sure I want to let the fuel go down to 0 in order to recalibrate. Or does the factory prefer that we use only the Garmin fuel gauge?

Hello Peter,

How far did you cruise? Do you know what your Garmin had for fuel remaining? I doubt that if it was a short cruise the Yamaha fuel gauge wouldn't move much. Your sender is located at the back of your tank so underway you'll absolutely read fuller than you actually are. Once you're at the dock sitting level is when I'd check the Yamaha display.

Thanks,
-Kenny

Thanks for the reply Kenny. No the Yamaha gauge did not move at all. It 's stuck on 1 bar used, in other words nearly a full tank. The Garmin shows roughly 35 gallons remaining. Hmmm...

That probably means I need need to recalibrate with the fuel tank empty?

Peter

When are you going to fuel up again? Lets try and fill to see how many gallons you put in and compare it to the Garmin reading.

Thanks,
-Kenny

Thanks Kenny. I'll give it a go and report back. Much appreciated.
