Hello. I have purchased a Garmin camera to install in the engine room but frankly I'm not up for the challenge [yet] to install. Has anyone tried a wireless solution or I can get some tugnut motivation [advice]. Thanks!

I balked at the Garmin camera price and bought a back up camera off the internet for 30 bucks. What is great is that it is wireless. Just requires 12 volts at each end. It came with a 3 inch color monitor that fit on the instrument panel just above the smartcraft display(mounted with velcro tape). Power was right behind it. The camera has low light capabilities and a wide angle of view. As I researched using the Garmin 5212 for a monitor, folks reported a smaller image in the center of the screen.

I liked this system as there was no wiring between the two and 12 volts was easy to find at each end. I mounted the camera on a 3 inch piece of PVC and it gets stuffed in a cup holder on the transom. Stored in the aft cabinet to thwart thieves. Google aback up cameras and you will find many between 25 - 200 dollars
