Campbell River tips

Starting a cruise soon from Campbell River B.C. after towing up. Looking for recommendations for long term truck and trailer parking, ramp access and moorage for a couple nights.

Any good places or ideas to recommend?

Strongly suggest you get there monday through thursday. Starting friday, the locals go out and the parking lot is full. You can pay for parking at the ramp. I believe it was $5.00 (canadian) a day. Have the right change and drop in door slot even after hours (bring envelope). Google the port for phone number to reserve a slip. They did not return my emails or messages I left. Have to talk direct. Lots of nice, helpful people up there.

Not sure if you have enough information for your trip or not but here’s my 2 cents. We launch at Pacific Playgrounds Marina. It is 1/2 way between Comox and Campbell River. Nice ramp,good docks, very sheltered and free parking.
It keeps you out of the tide rips of Campbell River and equally close to Desolation Sound.

Ended up staying at Discovery Harbour Marina. Lots of charter boat activity there. Ramp was decent but parking could be improved. Used the long term pay parking south of the shopping. At a 2’ tide the trailer is way out on rip-rap and it is not level near the dock so be aware. Next time will try 5’ or higher tide. Marina long term parking is kind of hidden and after making arrangements with them and seeing the area, we went for the pay parking. Groceries are short walk away as well as Canadian Tire, a decently stocked marine store and a liquor store which will deliver to your slip. Watch the current entering the marina as well as the rip around Mudge. We were in a 30’ slip and it seemed the fairways were 32’ wide with lots of outboard props glittering in the sun with engines raised. Marina was tough to get hold of initially.
