Good day fellow tugger,
I was going thru my canvas bag this afternoon and found one piece that I cannot find what it is used for :?:

Could you check the picture that I posted in my picture gallery and let me know what it is used for?

Thanks

Yea I got that part too, and asked the dealer and no one can really tell me, one thought was it is to wrap around the cables that come down from the helm. But I can't seem to get it to fit there. So, it looks like a complex piece so it must have a purpose.
We need professional help with this one.

The 25's have canvas for covering the cave door and the vee berth door. If you are out in the cockpit trying to find a spot for them they appear mysterious.
I took a look. Not a clue

It appears to have the same arc as the canvas top. When your top is folded up does it go over a corner to keep it together ? Hard to tell the size in the picture if it is big enough for that. That is my best guess. I have a cover for mine when folded and has the same arc but it covers the whole thing. It looks like it is made to go around a corner somewhere.
Good luck

Irish Mist,

On the 21 EC canvas, there is one piece that goes all the way across the top post as well to hold every thing in place during transportation.

That unknown canvas part, when attached looks like a cone shape!

Nope, you get one regardless of getting a top. Is suspect this is a plot by the factory to keep one busy figuring things out durning a cruise. Coming from a sail boat, I don't have to coninually adjust sheets, so Andrew has included a puzzle with every boat to keep us occupied! Is suspect it has no real purpose, perhaps some extra fabric they decided to test some Velcro on.

For a while I thought that is was for the anchor, but it does not make any sense...

It like flipping a washer onto the deck of a competitor during a sailing race, keeps them busy looking for a while.

This is the part in question:
main.php

I got the same bit with my 21EC.

I posted the same question a couple years ago here.

Best answer then was that it is for covering the steering, etc cables that run from dash to STB console. Since it has mating Velcro edges on opposite surfaces, it is clearly meant to wrap around something. I do not keep mine on the boat.

Thanks Dave, just like you, i'll keep mine off the boat...

I like this answer, mystery solved!

I tried that but it did not fit real well.

One last guess , could it be to go around a mooring line so it doesn't squeak when you are trying to sleep ?

Collapsible funnel to be used in the head by gents with less-than-perfect aim.

Hi folks. I couldn't determine the size of the canvas "wrap" from the above picture and I didn't get one with my 21EC ...... my only thought would be that it was a wrap to protect the chrome searchlight pedestal ...... just a shot in the dark since we are possibly talking about searchlights  Fran

How about a collapsible dunce hat? For when you hit the dock. 😳

it's about 2 1/4 feet long and 1 1/2 feet wide

This one is funny because I have never seen it or used it on the 21EC. I went out to the shop and asked the guys what this was and they all laughed. They said it is a piece to cover the wires/steering cable that comes down out of the helm dash leading to the starboard console where the throttle is mounted. They say it velcros to itself around those wires but never install it because they think it looks better without it. I will be letting our upholstery department know that they can cut this piece out of the kit.
