Any one tried a gasket to keep the fish box from collecting rain water? Rainy season in Florida means I have to check that water level every day or two and run the pump to empty.

Nope, I do have a fair amount of rug protector that I throw on top of various things for protection. I'm thinking a large piece, or other sheet plastic, may work as well as a gasket and be rolled and stored in the center bin above the bilge. It's very handy when you want to fillet a few fish on the BBQ/Sink cover...if it's a lot of fish, I pull out my fillet table that mounts in a rod holder. Since Cutwater drainage is minimal for an offshore boat in rough seas, I'm not sure that I'd want to seal my fish box since a lot of water drains into it that I can easily pump out.

Good idea, thanks. I wonder if I leave it there over the fish box lid without it causing discoloration.

If you are only using the fix box for storage you could easily put a ball valve in underneath and stop water from coming in. We pulled our fish box out and put a new deck lid on. LOVE the extra storage. We throw our salmon in the live well which works great for bleeding them out and keeping them fresh.

Thanks but we use the live well for bait.
