I noticed that a few posts were deleted from a post by davecook titled Ranger Purchase Story, dated 28-August. His last post stated that he was advised by legal counsel not to comment any more of the problem he is having with his purchase of a Ranger Tug. My self and a few others posted comments after his last post, none of them bad mouthed the dealership or the factory but was our thoughts on his problem. I noticed that they were deleted which is fine but would like to know the rules for posting!
Not trying to be a troublemaker but when I'm censured I would like to know why.
Thank you, if you don't want to let the whole FM family know you can PM me. Bob

The original poster stated his attorney asked him not to comment further. Having other members, as well intentioned as they may be, speculate without a clear understanding of the circumstances, is not in his best interest or those of the Ranger Tugs member community.

Thanks,

Bruce

Thank you Mr. Bruce for your reply, however I respectfully disagree with you!
I was under the impression that this forum was a place where one could post there thoughts and ideas without someone deciding if that person had a clear understanding. I made a comment based on a picture, agree or disagree but that is my opinion! Right or wrong I think every voice should be herd.
This is just my thoughts I hope you understand where I'm coming from, I love other people's ideas although I don't always agree with them. Thanks Bob

With all due respect, removing a post because someone "speculate(d) without a clear understanding of the situation" means that no member here, without a clear understanding, can post?

I have posted my opinion here many times "without a clear understanding"! Unless you are physically at the problem/issue, and are a trained professional (most of us are clearly not), you are saying that our opinions are "not in the best interest" of Ranger/FM.

Since I'll truly never have the ability to assess a situation without 100% accuracy, I will no longer be allowed to post.

Not a good precedent!

I hope this post isn't removed!

I am not as good as the past members have posted, but I will try.

We are just boaters, not professionals in the boating industry. So I don't see how are post can hurt any one in court other than the one going to court and using his post against him. He already wrote what happened so the damage is already done. Only the writer should be able to remove his on post, within reason. As long as its not hateful, raciest and.....

Iggy your post was just fine, and not one post found on this forum would benefit our harm someone’s possible litigation. Some will, however, make us think more. Attorneys’ say and do many stupid things all the time, as do their clients. Now let us all make more stories with our fine boats.

Thanks Bob for directing me to the post . My wife and I are second time Ranger owners , We have been to many Ranger rendezvous and developed many great friendships . I am sure my wife and I ( and other owners ) have helped sell Rangers by letting people off the street , tour inside our boats. I was proud of my modifications and the condition of my boat . I thought we where part of a family . My problem was the trust in some of the family . I am very disappointed in how my wife and I have been treated as second time Ranger owners .

We have been satisfied with Factory and Dealer we bought from.. If there is a lawsuit comments do not belong here until settled.

Bill-46, this thread was about censorship! While I see your point I fully disagree with you. Due to non disclosure agreements during any legal settlement we as a group will never know the outcome. This was about having ones thoughts and opinions deleted. I'm aware that this forum is private and controlled by FM Corp. However user's should be allowed to use it as long as they observe the rules which we did. I'm a firm believer that the more input the better the output. If everyone thinks the same, than no one is thinking! Thanks Bob

The point that's missed here is that the posts are removed because anything that FM finds could cost them money, even though it may be in the best interest of their customer, they remove. They have shown where there priorities are. Obviously, it not fairness to customers. I have had a warranty issue since last year all pre-approved and documented, yet they still have not paid me hoping I will just go away.

Any bets that all these posts will be removed Monday?

Hello Mr. Kent,

I went and looked though our dealer warranty section as well as all of my emails and don't see any history about an outstanding warranty claim with your boat. Please feel free to pick up the phone and give us a call about your issues and we will be happy to assist.

Thank you,

Ralf, who has been dealing with this, just called me and said it somehow got lost and he would arrange the payment shortly.

Thanks

Andrew,
Maybe followup with "Ralf" (yet again) on MY failed Lewmar thruster gearbox warranty claim? Our R27 has been laid up on the 'hard' for 6 WEEKS ....and ZERO communications/delivery status updates from FM, Pocket Yachts OR Lewmar. Another 'lost' warranty claim?
Forget it: I resigned myself to just pay for a replacement gearbox (received in 7 days) and have had it installed.
THANK YOU.

My experience with Fluid Motion.

I bought a used 2014 21ec from them. Andrew gave me a 6 month warranty on it. My tach failed after 3 months and Kevin came to my house and fix it. While he was there, he took time out to look at and fix a couple things the previous owner did. No charge. The boat didn’t come with new Zincs and Ivan sent me a new set and a Bluetooth adapter at no charge. Then my battery charger went out at 6.5 months. I bought a new one since I was out of warranty. I mentioned it to Ivan when I was asking him some technical questions and got an email from their customer service manager (forgetting name) asking that I send them the bill. They mailed me a check to cover the cost two weeks later.

Andrew, Ivan and Kevin always call me back and answer questions even though I’m just a dude who bought a used 21 for <50k .

I’ve never met a company that offers such great service. I’m a customer for life. I think it’s probably hard to have such a customer-centric culture like FM has, then have a to put your trust in dealers to offer the same.

Has the FM company categorically stated they do not censure except in the case of lawsuits? Not wanting lawsuits discussed don such a forum is understandable given that all parties involved are trying to protect assets and do not want to be subjected to possible intentional or unintentional misinformation that can be misconstrued and damaging to any parties.

The owners of this forum can allow or disallow anything they want. There is no law or regulatory requirement that they have to post or keep public anything that you post. They don't even have to let you be a member of the forum. That's how the world works.

I can just say, once lawyers get involved things do change (IF that is what happened here), and often they don't make sense to outside observers.
