Lady Jane + Bill B
Due to your issues with hose chafing I've benefited because the Ranger Tug factory has installed anti-chafing protection on all my engine hoses that are subject to being chafed as a result of vibration etc. They used some form of blue-looking anti-chafing hose material that they recently ordered to deal with this. I was at factory today and Kenny showed me what had been done. Unfortunately in the 'excitement' I forgot to take pictures showing what all was done. No matter, this is a first for my R-21EC and suspect it will now be standard fare for all future R-21ECs being built up.
Kenny Marrs will be taking our R-21EC to the water later today to check things out and will give me a status of how it all went... especially what engine parameters can be displayed on the Garmin 741XS MFD via the new Volvo NMEA 2K Gateway installation. I'll post back with this info later.
[EDIT]
Here's what can be displayed....
· Engine Coolant Temp
· Engine RPM
· Engine Hours
· Engine battery voltage
The factory were kind enough to install my complete Raymarine SmartPilot SPX5-R + p70R Control head and it looks super good and a very clean install indeed. I'll post photos later.
The King Marine Canvas (Bimini top + full enclosure) in Charcoal gray color has yet to arrive and am told its installation is awaiting for the boat to be in 'final' condition before it's installed.... so no photos of it can be made... but will post later.
I setup with Kenny to have a full set (well almost a full set) of spares delivered with the boat which is scheduled for Aug 26. This includes all the engine stuff, thruster fuse, spare plastic hand knobs for securing the mast in upright position, bilge pump extras, and so on.
Margaux was on hand affixing "Laxey" and the WA registration numbers on the boat... so captured that with my camera.
The Ranger gray is difficult to get right in the photos... but it does look gorgeous.
