Changing belts on D6 436 cutwater 30 se

The time is coming when I will hav to change the belts. Serpentine and compressor. Serpentine looks possible but compressor belt seems very difficult through the access hole they give you. Has anyone had to do this. I normally do most work myself but this looks tough.

I had my very experienced mechanic do the compressor. I was unable to reach it and it takes a special tool. It took him 3 hours and he had to acquire the special volvo tool. Not fun.

I finaly got belts replaced. Two men 5 hours. Touch and go for a while. Worried they would drop something under engine.
they had some tensioners and retracting tool. Very difficult.
Work by feel.

I recommend coastal Marine. The mechanic there is very familiar with this process. It only took him 2 hours to do mine. Plus I was there watching and was able to learn a lot. I still will go back and have them do it versus me trying to turn into a pretzel.
