I'll be changing fuel filters on my R21ec tomorrow. Has anyone had a problem bleeding the air out of the fuel lines following Volvo's instructions? If so please let me know how you solved the problem.
If there isn't any problem and you followed the instructions please let me know also.
I'll also be changing engine and gearbox oil but that looks pretty straight forward.
Before I retired I had a Chief Engineer to do this kind of stuff. Now I'm the engineer...but I'm learning.

Thanks. Bob

I've changed mine a couple of times now with no issues at all. Used the primer pump until I had fuel through the bleed screw, tightened the screw and the old girl fired up immediately.

Same here, real easy, all right in front of you.

Thanks guys, it went real smooth. Couple of hiccups even though I bled the air but it settled down and ran well after that.

Those of you with the D1-30 engine might want to look at the short fuel line that runs from the filter housing to the injectors. Mine had rubbed on the oil dipstick and had a fairly good sized indentation worn in the hose. Only 160 hours on the engine.
There's also some rubbing on both fuel hoses where they go through the bulkhead at the back of the engine bay. There's no rubber grommet around the hole, just raw fibreglass.
