I pulled off the left rear trailer tire (boat is off) due to a slow air leak, and found out the jack supplied with the F250 will work, but is somewhat ungainly to use.

While waiting for the Goodyear store to fix the tire, I went to local auto parts store and got a 12 ton hydraulic bottle jack, thinking of the possibility of changing a tire with the boat on. It works a whole lot better, and I'll carry that as permanent kit in the truck along with a piece of 2x8 to use as a jack pad.

We have a NAPA 12-ton bottle jack. Have used it countless times with our nearly 12,000 lb trailer, usually with 3-4 2x6's under it. 65,000 miles of towing requires a lot of bearing and brake maintenance, unfortunately occasionally while on the road between here and Prince Rupert. The bottle jack really does the job.

We have AAA 😉 😎

I just found another use for my 12 ton bottle jack. We just returned home from a boat trip down south and when I went to raise the trailer from the truck ball the trailer Fulton jack crank snapped an internal gear rendering the lift inoperable. So I resorted to our 12 ton bottle jack to use in order to lift the trailer off of the truck ball. Although extra towing/ Trailering insurance may cover a tire change I think having the extra jack on hand for situations like we just had is well worth the cost.
