Wanted to find an ebook version of Chapman's Piloting and Seamanship Guide to put on my IPad for space saving reasons. Found an ebook copy of the 66th edition at www.booksamillion.com. Unfortunately I purchased the book only to find out the ebook version they sold me wasn't compatible with my IPad. I had assumed since it was an ebook it would be in a .pdf format and I could read it on the free app Goodreader. Unfortunately, it downloaded in .acsm format. I was able to download it to Adobe Digital Editions (which I also had to download to my mac first). A quick search online found this thread:
3 steps to convert acsm to PDF
1. Open acsm with Adobe Digital Editions, then it will download the complete ePub eBook, the saving folder is C:\My Documents\My Digital Editions. Find the book you want to convert.
2.Remove the ePub's DRM via Epubsoft Adobe DRM Removal.

3,.Convert epub to pdf via this free converter:
http://www.epubsoft.com/soft/calibre.html
Followed the steps (actually think I had to go only as far as 2) used the free trial of the software and was able to convert to .PDF which I then dragged via to Good Reader through Itunes.
Long and short of it was they wouldn't let me return the ebook after I purchased it, and it was the only ebook version I could find that wasn't outdated; so, I went through the process, and I now have a very compact, usable version of Chapman's on my IPad.
