Subject: Charcoal filter for holding tanks vent
There have been numerous posting about the need to install a charcoal filter in the holding tank's vent line to reduce the unpleasant smells that occur when the holding tank vents.
On some boats the vent line can be somewhat easy to access and an inline charcoal filter can be installed, and many say this does eliminate or reduce the smell issue.
I'm wondering if there's some sort of filter that can simply be attached to the hull where the vent hole is and serve just as well as an inline filter and offer a much easier installation and the annual replacement chore ?
The smell is obviously obnoxious, but my family members always make a joke out of it, but would like to avoid this conversation aspect. 😉
