I bought parts to install the check valve and the fittings you listed (AF90 and 71955T) don't fit into the Garmin check valve. Looks like the valve accepts ORB5 fittings rather than the ORB6 fittings listed listed in the instructions.
 
I purchased the Garmin Check Valve Kit several years ago and am only now getting ready to install it. This is Garmin part number 010-11203-00 and needs ORB6 fittings as described in Bruce's Check Valve Installation instructions provided earlier in this subject chain. Garmin has a new version of the Check Valve Kit, part number 010-11203-10 and it requires the ORB5 fittings. The original check valve is rectangular shaped and the new check valve is square. If you are going to have custom hoses made up, I recommend taking your fittings with you so the custom hose ends have the correct threads on the 3/8 compression fitting for whichever ORB fitting you are using. Based on my research and Bruce's notes, the original 010-11203-00 check valve uses ORB6 fittings AF90 and 71955. The newer 010-11203-10 check valve uses ORB5 fittings HF6004 and HF6006.
