I always keep my boat ( when its out of the water) parked on the trailer at the side of my house. This AM I hooked up a hose to supply water while I ran it on the trailer to warmup before changing the oil, and running RV anti-freeze into the raw water system for the winter. Engine started in 2 seconds on the first try (as usual)...after about 3-4 minutes it sputtered (not usual) then ran fine for a few seconds and sputtered again so I quickly shut it down. I thought I must have shut the tank vent (It's an 05 R-21 and the vent is on the filler cap). I opened the rear lazarette to check (I re-installed my tank back there) and to my amazement........ NO TANK  !! Just the 2 fuel lines and tank brackets.

It seems that sometime in the past month somebody stole it... and It was topped up too!! Whoever took it may not have realized it was diesel fuel so I really hope they put the fuel into their car :x
I'm glad I had nothing else in the compartment ( removed the tool box and spares earlier ) and the pilothouse is always locked...as the lazarrette will now be as well. It is usualy empty so I hadn't bothered to lock it..after all who'd expect the tank to be removed?? siphoned maybe...but ....removed??

Anybody have the measurements of the tank??..Looks like I'l be buying a new tank (and a padlock).

HOLY COW!!! I would expect that if you had it parked in New York City. I can't believe they would steel the tank and not just siphon the sucker.

Hey Alex,

That is just too weird. Who would pull a tank with 90 pounds of fuel in it?? Especially from the nest we have our tanks in. I guess times are tough enough that people will go to extraordinary lengths to save a few bucks. I wonder what they wanted more, the fuel or the tank?

It might be the tank because as near as I can tell the company that made my tank and most likely yours, Tempo, appears to be discontinuing the 12 gallon tank in the dimensions that fit our current tanks. Here is a link to a place that looks like they still have some tanks and they are on closeout sale right now http://www.foreandaftmarine.com/2-ULTRAPBW.htm

This is a link to a company near me that is stocking a Moeller fuel tank in nearly the same dimensions http://www.easternmarineoutlet.com/Moel ... -630012LP/
I don't see any reason that this tank would not fit in the lazerette area just like the original tank.

Contact me if you need any other info.

Eric

Thanks Eric, Foreandaftmarine seems to have a great price. I'll try them tomorrow.

Now I just need to figure out why someone would want to take my tank. Seems like a pretty small value for the hassle and risk.

Have a tank here that may get you going at least for a while. It is 36 inches by 16 inches by 8 inches and made of plastic.
If that would get you going again let me know and we will figure out how to get it to you. Bob Heselberg in Eatonville Wa

Thanks for the very kind offer Bob,
I've already ordered an exact replacement tank from foreandaftmarine.com. It should be here next week.
