RENDEZVOUS!
All Ranger, Cutwater, and C-dory owners far and wide are invited to attend the 2012 Chesapeake Rendezvous June 1-3 at the Bay Bridge Marina on Kent Island, opposite Annapolis. More details coming soon, but mark the days and if you think you can join by land or sea, send an email to chuck@chesranger.com until a full-time chairman is set up. Slips available, launch ramps nearby, pool, picnic area, and plans for seminars, presentations, prizes, and all the camaraderie you can hope for.

There are good restaurants in the area (Hemmingways) as well as good places for crabs (Crab Shack). Even more food at the Narrows (4 miles to the east connecting Kent Island to the Eastern Shore). This is also right next to Bay Bridge Airport when I have an aircraft if you want a photo of your boat from the air.

Shared Dream will be there. We are looking forward to what will be a great event!
Best Regards
Sandi & Ken

"Alamar" will be there with Juan & Stephanie Lluna-Garces.

Lone Star Ranger will be there. Tracey and I are really excited about attending.

Nancy & Bill Eggert of Annapolis will be there aboard our new Ranger 25 SC, Just Limin'. We're currently on the hard, awaiting commissioning. We can't wait to get on the water and meet everyone!

Come one, Come all! Hailing all Cutwater, C-Dory, and Ranger Tugs! In just a few short days we have broken the double digit barrier with people. Now it's time to break the double digit barrier with boats. Who will be the first Cutwater or C-Dory to express their interest in this great event? Just leave a note on this site so we can track the growing community of fellow boaters for a great early summer event.

Lil' Debbie, our 21EC, will be commissioning and testing her sea legs at Piney Narrows on Kent Island over the next few weeks. Since Kent Island looks to be the homeport, I guess we had better put the Rendezvous on our schedule. Looking forward....
Bill and Debbie

Dottie and I will be there on Therapist II

Fantastic! Welcome Bill and Debbie, Rick and Dottie. We are still looking for the breakthrough commitment from the Cutwater and C-Dory communities. Don't miss out on what promises to be a great launch into the summer boating season. We are looking forward to your participation improving this memorable event.

This rendezvous is listed on c-brats.com but no one has signed up. They have two cruises scheduled just before and after our rendezvous with lots of signups, so we may not get any C-Dorys. Too bad.

Mike, are you planning on attending with Irishwake?? I didn’t mean to leave you off, just wasn’t sure. 😀

We plan to make the three-day trip from Ocean City, NJ to attend also. (Snug Tug, 2007 R-25). We might also be interested in a trip up the Potomac to Wash. DC, or some other Chesapeake destination after the rendezvous.

We plan to attend on "Merryheart" (R-27).

-- John & Nancy Henderson

I've learned that two Cutwater owners are all in for the Rendezvous, and two more may be joining as well.

I have asked John Garcia to be Fleet Captain and responsible for working out details with the Bay Bridge Marina for slip assignments, arrival schedules, etc. He can be contacted at Juan.Garciajr@us.army.mil.

He will also keep us all up to date on the growing list of attendees and boats. Thanks, John, and thank you Tracey for letting John pitch in.

But where are the C-Brats?!?!?! 😀

Just FYI...Here is some preliminary info I have found about the Bay Bridge Marina and the area: The Marina does have a fuel dock servicing Diesel fuel. For those of you wanting to trailer your boat here, there is a public ramp a couple of miles south (Matapeake State Park), $10/24 hr period. There are several restaurants, a Giants grocery store, a Walgreens, and a West Marine within 5 miles. To get to these places there is a Local Taxi service with Island service for $10. For those of you bringing your "furry mates" to the rendezvous, there is a mobile Vet clinic (Convenient Care Mobile Vet Svc) that will come to our location (and I'm hoping not), just being on the safe side. 🙂

I need help with the following committees:
Begging Committee Lead (to solicit support from suppliers for gifts, certificates, products, services, etc).
Activities Committee Lead (Needed to coordinate and solidify the agenda for the weekend...trawler crawl, silent auction, Happy Hour, Presentations/Forums, etc).

More info to follow... 😀

John,

I think I can get the airport (right next door) to agree to store trailers etc. in a safe, close and FREE location. If folks can let me know how many trailers/vehicles need to be stored I will take care of that. I don't have a Ranger Tug...Just the Tug Hat and still happy to help ;-) Plus I will arrange the aerial shot of the fleet (weather depending) as I indicated in the PM to you.

Take care,

Mike

I have some expired flares that we could use for a demo. I have handheld and aerial types. I was an Ordnanceman in the Navy and was previously qualified and certified for handling, etc. all types of flares and pyrotechnics. We would need permission from the marina, Coast Guard, and DNR to do the demo. And, probably ought to let the nearby airport know also.

Mike,

Thank you for looking into that. I've contacted the Marina to see if they will store the trailers at their location and if there will be an additional cost. Once I hear back from them, we can proceed accordingly.

And thanks again for helping us out with an arial shot. I think having a dozen (or more) vessels out on the water with both RTs and CWs will be an awesome shot. Once we get closer to the event, we'll work out the specifics.

John Garcia
Fleet Captain
