The fifth annual C Dory/Ranger gathering will be the first weekend in June, at lankford Bay Marina.
We would like to see a crowd of Rangers here for the event. We are just beginning to organize. Write me if you have questions. last year we had about 30 boats, and a few Rangers...

We have already signed up nine boats for the June Chesapeake Gathering, first weekend in June at Lankford Bay Marina, off the beautiful Chester River..
We have two Rangers on the list and hope for more. Last year we had two Rangers and 24 C Dory's.
Possibility of a post gathering cruise, or a few days before the gathering.

Great food, music, advice (more than you need), and great people. Don't miss it.
If you have questions, write me here...

Hope to see a fleet of Ranger Tugs this year!

My wife Judy and I will be taking possession of an R25 at the end of March. Name is to be Belle Fin. Initially we will be keeping it on a trailer in Laurel, MD but may decide later to get a slip at a marina, probably on the South or West Rivers. We would like to attend the Chesapeake gathering. I think I signed up on the C-Dory site, but I am not too savvy about these things, so I may need to do more. Do we need to make a reservation at the Langford Marina for ourselves for the time we plan to be there?

Hi Chuck, we're glad to have you! I checked and you successfully signed up over at the C-Brats site. We'll be posting more info here as the time gets a little closer. Yes, you will need to make your own reservation at Langford, the phone number will be posted here soon, along with directions and more info on the gathering!

Looking forward to meeting you in June, congratulations on the new boat!

Charlie

June is just around the corner, and the Chesapeake Gathering is taking form. Soon we will ask about T Shirt orders (this year with both C Dory and Ranger Tug logos ), and other info.
We will have music, not only our famed Kazoo Band but an old fashioned "sing around" so all of you who play something, bring it along..Great fun.
And remember chorus to Chester River Song:
"I'm gonna sail the Chester River
And lay back in the noonday sun,
With my feet in the water and a National Bo
Oh Lordy, that's what i call fun!"

The weekend will feature C Dory and Rangers...and lots of information, good comradeship and libations to go with the great food...or vice versa?

Sign up now.

I expect to get the boat Wednesday or Thursday and am, of course, pretty excited. I look forward to the gathering at Langford. As I am a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary and a qualified vessel examiner, I will be happy to do vessel safety checks for any of the boats attending.

Chuck,
Welcome aboard. I assume you are getting the boat at Gratitude, here in Rock Hall? Great people.

The Lankford gathering is a really nice experience, and i'm sure you will have some takers for the inspection.

Tom McHugh, R 25 BANJO, Rock Hall,

Ordered T Shirts for the June gathering this week. Watch for a post from Charlie Re; how to order your shirt.
The shirts will have both the Ranger logo and the C Dory logo .

People will begin arriving at Lankford Bay Marina on Thursday, June 4, but most pull in on Friday afternoon. There is a very nice public launch ramp less than a mile from the marina...and voluteers will be available to shuttle people and help.
Friday is "get acquainted " time, and some people explore the myriad creeks and hideaways in the area. Friday night is the famed pot luck with more food than you 'd get at a Ukrainian wedding. (Well, maybe not, i've been to Ukrainian weddings)...Saturday people often visit other boats and talk about ideas, modififications, etc. We hope to have a Range 29 there from our local dealer.

Saturday night we provide dinner...This year probably crab cakes, salads, Terry's scrumptuous Red Hots and White Hots, and Eastern Shore Fried Chicken.

Music at the cocktail hour. And some singing we hope. Bring your kazoo from last year!!

It really is a wonderful, laid back, Maryland EasternShore weekend. Y'all come.

As we say here: "No matter where you go, there you are."

Well it won't be long. Just two months from today and we will be meeting again on the Chester River.
Please call Lankford Bay Marina and make reservations for a slip for the weekend. Talk to John A. He will take care of everything.

If you haven't signed up yet, go to the Events Signups and put your name in.

Tom has met with the T-shirt man and we will again have T-shirts to sell.

Remember Friday, June 5th Pot Luck Supper 'Meet and Greet' (you bring a dish to share - we provide the soda, water to drink) Saturday, June 6th is the main meal. We will again have barbeque fare, chicken, hot dogs, salad and maybe some local crab cakes. Sunday morning, June 7th we will have a 'Sendoff Breakfast' - new this year.

If you are new to group this year, we have people that can help you launch your boat or if you come by boat, help you tie up at the dock.

Capt. Charlie will be keeping in touch and he will set up his spreadsheet again. He keeps track of number of boats and people attending. Does a fine job too!

You can come early or stay later than the gathering to cruise the area. We will have info on the local favorite spots to cruise at the gathering also. Post your plans and maybe you can meet up with others to cruise the Bay.

Keep watching the site for more info.

As they said, I'm sort of the record keeper, make nametags, attendance lists, etc. Please sign up over at the C-Brats site, we're looking for a record total of 50 boats in this, our 5 th year! Lots of good fun for Tugs and Dorys! If you need help signing up, PM me or send me an e-mail and I'll try to make it easy for you.

I will be posting directions soon for those that need them. If any of you Tuggers would like a copy of my excel spreadsheet or template for nametags for your Tug gatherings, just contact me and I'd be glad to share.

Hi. Tom I would like to sign up for the chesapeake gathering, but I can not find the sig in sheet. . Can you hepl me with this? Harry (25 rangertug) hgtscot@yahoo.com

I'm on it Tom. Norge, bring up the C-Brats site, on the top of the home page, you will see a button for "events". Click on that and you'll see all the events. Bring up the Chesapeake Gathering and join. If you still have problems, repost this and I'll call you on the phone and walk you through it. You will probably have to join C-Brats to make it work but it's painless and free!

Look forward to meeting you in June!

We're up to 17 boats now!

Charlie

Harry,

Though i am one of the big mahoofs, i am clueless about the sign in, except i know you should go to the site called C-brats...just type that in...and you register for free and up at the top of the bar it says something like sign ins...
if not email Charlie who is on this site, in this listing many times...and he will tell you.

Great to know you are coming...we can compare notes.

Tom

Aleah, that's great. We'll have 4 Ranger 25's in attendance and two more owners w/o their boats and a whole lot of C-Dorys. If you could get your hands on an R-21, that would be nice too, we had a couple last year but none this year. Bring what literature you can.

Unfortunately I've had to cancel but I'll post your note on the C-Brats site for all to see there too!
