city by the bay

hey tugnutters!-- steveandtina here. tomorrow morning the CHRISTINA BEE goes into the bay for the first time. I finally convinced the first mate that the water there wasn"t any bigger that any other waters we have been in. we will be trailering from auburn to emeryville on I 80 then a short right to the launch ramp. will probably spend tues nite at the marina so we can watch the sun set over San Francisco and then the lites of the city.. next day over to angel island where ther is a great hiking trail circumnavigating the island... will tay in Ayala cove and then on to treasure island the next day. maybe spend one nite in the city!! any how if the are any nutters in the area [i'm thinking maybe of the guy charles sold blue bayou to] and if you want to hook up for lunch or something ,, send out a message I really wish I knew how to post pics, [they would have to be reeeeealy simple____ instructions] as you can see, i don't even know how underline words. have a great rest of the week [WE ARE] ,,, STEVEANDTINA 😀 😀

First of all, Steve, you're missing a bet here: McCovey Cove, adjacent to the AT&T baseball park, is where you want to be this afternoon, catching the home run balls that make it out of the park---hit by SF Giants, of course !!!!
Now, if that's too far off course, I want to recommend a stunningly beautiful little natural cove on the East side of Yerba Buena Island, right where the land fill for the old Navy Base on Treasure Island (site of a World Fair in 1939, I believe it was) begins to attach to the North end of the natural rock of Yerba Buena. I forget the name, but this lovely Cove is a place you can anchor legitimately, more or less under the Bay Bridge that they are still building anew on the East half, but in a beautiful natural cove, smack dab in the middle of 10 million people, or so, who have NO CLUE that it exists in all its serenity, with a white sand beach !!! Almost tropical. Tahiti in SFO Bay. Very protected, leeward side.
Oh, and I second the motion for Scoma's, but you'll have to get permission to dock at Fisherman's Wharf, which might be touchy on short notice in Indian Summer at the City by the Bay.
I left my heart there, to coin a phrase...............as well as my R-25.

HEH TUGNUTTERS...HERE WE ARE AFTER SPENDING ONE NIGHT AT THE EMERYVILLE CITY MARINA FOR THE OUTRAGEOUS PRICE OF 20 DOLLARS-- FULL HOOK-UPS AND FREE PARKING FOR THE TRUCK AND TRAILER. WE ARE NOW IN A LOVELY SAN FRANCISCO MARINA LESS THAN 2OO YARDS FROM AT AND T PARK LISTENING TO THE GIANTS GAME OVER THE PARKS LOUDSPEAKERS. TOMORROW, WE WILL HIKE ON ANGELS ISLAND WITH A STOP AT CHARLES RECOMMENDATION HE SO GRACIOUSLY PROVIDED. THE SAN FRANSCICO BAY IS AN INCREDIBLE PLACE TO OWN A RANGER TUG . ANYONE CARING TO MAke the TRIP HERE WITH THEIR TUG IN TOW WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. WE HAVE TO GET BACK TO THE GAME ON THE RADIO(NO SATELLITE FOLLOW ME TV ON THE CHRISTINA BEE). we prefer to read.
