Hi Donnevin and all fellow tugnuts...
I have found a resource for most, if not all, questions relating to our Clarion Receivers older models as well as the current CMD6 series.
The website is:
www.marineaudio.com I happen to have a CMD4A model installed in my R-25 and one of the black control knobs on the lower left of the front panel broke loose when it got fouled up with a tape measure. By going to the marineaudio website, clicking on Clarion (they sell other stuffas well) and clicking on support I was able to find telephone numbers and got their tech support guy. After briefly explaining my problem he is sending a replacement knob.... FREE !
What is
way more important however, is that these folks know all about various Clarion units and are willing to explain differences, hookups, harnesses, sizes of base units and remote units etc. There is much info on the website itself like manuals and specs for the old and new models if you are interested in upgrading. I am not sure but I think the CMD6 will fit into the CMD4/5 panel hole but the 6 is a few inches deeper than the other units. It certainly appears to be technologically innovative state of the art equipment. Best bet is to call or email them.
I tried to Google Clarion and while I did get to the Clarion website that's about as far as I got because there was no understandable info there...
Hope this info helps clarify some of the Clarion questions. Happy tugging to all, tugpup
