Yesterday I posted a Need Trailering subject describing my need for someone in the Greater Chicago area to help me get past the Asian carp fish barrier by using their trailer. I am on the Great Loop and the Illinois River is closed south of Chicago, except for a $600 fee to be towed through the electrical fish barrier by a real towboat. Tuggin Aweigh, aka Frank & Pam Mathon, wrote me that they lived over 4 hours from Chicago, but would drive their trailer to Chicago and trailer me around the fish barrier for only their expenses involved. I declined, as that would take most of 2 days of their time, a night away from home and a lot of effort, but the offer was most magnanimous. We successfully got past the barrier today, in our Ranger 25, lashed to a steel hulled towboat, but I am greatly impressed with the kindness and the generosity of Ranger Tug owners like them. Thanks to Tuggin Aweigh! I think we will be the first Ranger Tug to complete the entire Great Loop, and I dreally wanted to be able to claim we did it all by water. Evan & Pookie Davis
