I was wondering what the little D-rings on the forward cabin roof were for - puzzled, then, when looking at other Classic 27's I see spreaders on the mast, and stays too!

now where did mine go? Was this how it came from the factory?

I’m assuming you are referring to the mast tie down cables. These tie down cables are shown, but not labeled, on page 8 of the owners manual. With the mast up, you need these cables secured to the aft set of roof clips on each side of the mast.
See page 27 of the R27 Classic owners manual for instructions on taking the mast down for trailering and then putting the mast back up. You want the mast up any time you are not trailering the boat. Our Journey (a R25 Classic) is in our driveway on the trailer with the mast up as I write this. Leaving the mast down can cause water to pool in the radar dome - not a good thing!
With the mast down, the two mast tie down cables clip to the forward roof clips.
If you are missing the mast tie down cables, I’d strongly recommend buying or making new ones. They add a lot of strength to keeping the mast secure.
Hope that helps!
