Original owner of a 2018 R31 CB, now in the second season.
Had a problem with significant water buildup (fresh, not salt) in the "starboard bilge" (area between the bow, engine room bulkhead, and outboard of the starboard longitudinal stringer..). Found the source, resolved.. (at least not worried about it).
My question was why it did not find its way naturally, via a limber hole, to the engine room bilges ?? ( I pumped it out with a Shop Vac).
Presented the story to a factory rep at a recent rendezvous here on the East Coast, and he said there is a limber hole back there, probably blocked by debris.
The hole, however , is occluded from view by the plywood platform supporting the water heater, and in the rear by the battery bank and wires. So I sent my trusty I-phone down there to take some pics under the plywood platform... and
"What Ho" !!! I found the obvious limber hole, and it is sealed by " Expando Foam" !!! (Wish I knew how to post the beautiful, unmistakable picture...) Had to be done at the factory, since I am the original owner...
Does anyone know why that would be done ??
