I’m going to take a shot at this. Our 2020 r27 has one CO detector in the vberth. So I would assume the 23 had one as well. Ours is located on the port side .

My R27 has one CO monitor high up in the V-Berth. I'm thinking of moving it lower to where it would actually wake me up before I succumb. CO is heavier than air and the monitor is a good 18" or more above my head when sleeping!

Actually, CO is not heavier than air. Per the EPA: “Because carbon monoxide is slightly lighter than air Because carbon monoxide is slightly lighter than air and also because it may be found with warm, rising air, detectors should be placed on a wall about 5 feet above the floor.”
That said, in boats with confined spaces just about any vertical position (low or high) should be fine. I replaced the dead CO detector in the cave of our R25 Classic with two self-contained 10 year battery units. One in the cave and one in the v-berth next to my head. Test them before each cruise. Despite they are not “marine rated” they have worked just fine for several years now.

Thx for all your responses. I found the one in the mid berth but I thought there may be another one because the 24/7 fuse block layout I was given shows two of them.
