Coarse or fine mesh for R21 strainer?

I have the fine mesh screen in my engine strainer. This summer while looking for a replacement for my worn out screen I saw fine and coarse screens. The fine one were labeled for "drinking water". Can I use the coarse screen instead of the very fine one?

I hope someone will answer this..my fine mesh filter clogs with algae and a coarse mesh filter may help that,,is there any harm to engine if algae passes through?????

I had the same issue with the filter on my Mase genset. Kenny Marrs told me it was OK to use the coarse screen as a replacement. Check with Andrew or Kenny at the factory for your 21.
