Hello,
I own a 2013 R25SC. There is a coax lead above the helm that feeds rearward. It's on the shelf above the helm... There is a power adaptor there with what I'm sure is the feed from the digital antennae, and of course their is the lead that connects to the TV. Both plugged in. What is this non-connected coax lead for? Any advise appreciated! Thanks.

Hi,
I thought I would post a follow up. After removing the wood chase behind the (starboard side) , I was able to find that the coax cable was run there for an additional TV llocation above the sink. I guess the original buyer requested this. Would have been nice if the wire had been labeled as to what it was for, as I purchased my 25sc second hand, and had no imput on options. Have discovered more wires, etc. obviously pre-wired per purchaser specs. Why can't a list of "extras" be included with the boat so future boat owners might have an easier time sorting these things out. A recent post made comment on the addition of wires from the TV to the stereo as an option or extra... Obviously factory supplied options are easier to track as I'm sure each boat is made to order by the buyer... (Purchase order) Might of been brought to my attention had the owner sold me the boat instead of a broker. Some upgrade are obvious, some are not.

I'm just speculating here and what I am about to say may be totally wrong, but that never stopped me before... 😉

Why in the world would anyone need or want a second TV over the sink, just five or six feet away from the factory installed unit by the windshield? For the poor soul that sits in the aft-facing seat at the dinette table? Nah, I don't think so.

My guess is that your mystery lead was owner installed and is for running out the helm or galley window to hook up to the shore cable TV provided by many marinas. At least that's what I did on Tug Dawg.

Just sayin'.

If we had kept our 27, I was planning to move the TV to over the sink. When two people are sitting at the dinette, only one can see the TV in its present position. With it over the sink Two people can stretch out a bit by turning to the side and both could view the TV easily.

Makes sense to me, I was the poor soul facing aft.

Willie wouldn't snuggle with you on her side of the dinette? 😉

Actually there was a way to push the table down, put the cushion on it and make a nice playpen for adults to play and watch TV, etc. But by the time I stowed the computers, moved all the gear from underneath the table, adjusted the table, found the cushion, the TV programs were off and I was too tired to play.

Actually, it was a factory installed option.... My thought was simply that these tugs are built per a purchase order. Sure, many are identical, but when a buyer starts adding extras, I don't see why a copy of any upgrades beyond "stock" would somehow not be documented. Why not include a copy of the particulars (purchase order) and affix it to the boat. Seems like it might save a lot of investigating...
