2012 Cutwater 28 TV Cable Hook-up. Looks like, in the cabinet behind the TV, we have Cable from the TV to a splitter then a second cable out heading down the port side of the boat. Can't figure out where it goes. I've been looking for a typical male attachment point and can't find one. Do I have to run cable from our Shore access through a hatch or door or is there a connection point already available external of the Cabin. If not, where do you recommend installing one.

I have a 2016 C30. I have to run the cable through a hatch to a module(amp?) in the cave, I unhook the antenna feed and screw on the coax cable there. I asked at time of purchase to add an outside input was told it was problematic and would be a big deal because of my 2 televisions and switching from the antenna to the CATV and back, Don't know if that is true or not. The dealer said that info came from Majestic. It's still on my to do list, just way down there somewhere.

Hello,

It sounds to me like someone else ran a different cable as it wouldn’t have come from the factory as described. We have not installed external cable TV connections on that model so it would be something you would need to install. You might try reaching out to who you purchased the boat from to see what was done.

Take care,

Hi Phil,

I installed an outside input for cable on my ‘16 C30. Whomever told you it was problematic was blowing smoke up your, ahem, rear output.

I purchased an inexpensive inlet like this: http://www.iboats.com/Furrion-Mini-TV-I ... gLHzvD_BwE There are fancier types in stainless steel if you prefer.

I mounted it just forward of the two shore power inlets on the starboard side of the boat. Looks factory. Ran a coax cable from this inlet into the small compartment at the aft of the cave where you found what you called the amp (or is it just a splitter?). It’s a very easy cable run because of the access you have though the cockpit locker where the battery switches are. You’ll see cables from the house battery switch running forward to the aft cave compartment. Snaking a coax cable next to them and into the cabin is a piece of cake. Once you have the coax inside the aft cave compartment, disconnect the factory antenna input and install a good A/B coax switch. I chose one that could be screwed securely into the aft wall of the compartment. Connect the boat’s antenna cable to one “output” of the A/B switch (most of them work in either direction) and the cable you ran from outside to the other “output”. A short piece of coax from the switch’s “input” then connects back to where you removed the TV antenna’s coax from the factory splitter. To switch from the boat’s antenna to the cable inlet you installed is simply a matter of flipping open the fuse compartment’s door and pushing the appropriate A or B switch.

It’s actually harder to describe than it is to do.

Thanks "Boatagain" I had my doubts but it was kind of odd that when I unplug my antenna feed the green power light on that white box goes out and doesn't come back on when I screw in my cable feed, even though the cable feed is "semi-hot",( I get small shocks from it and even small sparks when hooking it up). I will move the outside feed further up the list, Thanks Again

Appreciate the input. Down to her this weekend to make it happen!!
