Cockpit canvas covers

I looked for an applicable thread, but, didn't see anything directly related to my question, how to get mine replaced. My 2019 Cutwater C302c has covers for the aft seat and pull out seating on port and starboard. I've done a bit of hand sewing and using canvas patching, but, would prefer to get the pieces replaced. Hence, my question is has anyone done this and how did you go about it. I'm based in the Bay Area and will have to find someone willing to do the work and, of course, pay more than other areas. I called two highly rated places and neither returned my calls, but, that's something I'll deal with. I realize the FM does not maintain the drawings they could share for all of out boats. The obvious method is take the old canvas to the shop and get quotes and work done, however, that's a risk since they won't have the boat (it's in the water 100%). I may be able to do it when it's hauled out for bottom painting, but, I'm not optimistic that I can get someone onsite without paying for many extra days.

Hi Rocky, I feel your pain on this. I have a 2016 C30CB and through 9 years of exposure to the elements, my canvas is pretty beat up. I have the luxury of being in a covered slip right now, and I have a full cockpit cover installed as well. That said, I purchased sunbrella fabric in the exact match to my flybridge enclosure, and I'm borrowing a friends sail rite machine and doing it myself. I've started systematically disassembling all the existing pieces and patterning the new ones, when I have time. It's a slow project for sure...

Hey Dave, If you give me a shipping address, I'll send mine🙂🙂 I'm only half joking since it would be great if someone on Tugnuts provided services like this for our boats. We are not all so handy and, while I do a lot of jobs on my boat that I'd never do at home, I know my limits. I was very pleased with the custom berth covering sold by yachtbedding.com that was expensive, but if I'd done it myself, it would look like my college dorm room.
