Check out YOLO's upgraded cockpit flooring. This woven vinyl is better than carpet. Almost indestructable!

That looks great. Can you tell me where I can get some more information about that woven vinyl flooring.

John

Looks like plasteak which is a brand name. However that is for internal use only. With any cockpit install exposed to humidity you need to watch out for humidity accumulation underneath and either seal it or vent it

It looks like BLT Aqua Tread Imaged Teak Marine Vinyl sold by Overton's and others for about $9 a square foot.

$ 81 per yard! Quite expensive!

May have to correct myself. The original poster stated "woven" vinyl and a search points to some offerings from sailrite, even more expensive.

But either way, trapped humidity is the thing to watch out for.

We have the good fortune of working with a yacht interiors designer in Marblehead, MA They have done all the work you see in our photo album.

The vinyl is held in place with snaps. We can lift it up and air it out any time we want. Humidity is not an issue.

Cost: $1750.00 installed

Look at plasdeck---made by plasteak folks. It looks really nice to me and if you watch the repairs that they show, it is amazing. Full disclosure for me-Don't own a boat, but will.....

It looks real nice, but seems like a lot of moola for aesthetics. What benefits come with the installation...non-skid, cooler in the sun, insulation from the hot engine compartment? Just wondering.

LOL, and I was going to comment that it seemed like a pretty good deal compared to what is charged for plain old mass produced carpet. All is relative.

Yup....I skipped the carpet, too. Seemed to me that the "bare" hatch covers were pretty good, non-skid and all, and very easy to keep clean. We have a couple of rubber-backed throw rugs when needed....

Yes to all. Aesthetics, better footing, cooler on the bare feet. Worth every penny. And the Admiral loves it (need I say more????????).
