Hello folks,
Do Ranger Tugs come with cockpit power outlets for down-riggers / pot-pullers?
Is it standard, or a build option?
Or, does it need to be done by a third party or owner?
Thanks.

They came standards on my R29 NW edition and they now are standard on the R27 NW Edition.

Frog, here is a picture of the plug and socket used for the standard Scotty Downriggers on the 2021 RT27OB. Not difficult to install. Be careful with wire AWG and fuse selection. Should be for 30 amps. Plug/socket can also be used for lightweight pullers. (Not suitable for shrimping imo, but ok for crab pots) $41 on Amazon.

I upgraded my puller to a Discovery Bay PowerHauler. Higher amperage, so I selected a better plug and heavier wires for that circuit. Let me know if you want details.

I installed Scotty sockets on both sides of my 2015 R27 . It was simple.

I fish and prawn a lot! I probably have 1200 hrs + of trolling for salmon.

The Scotty pot puller works fine for 2 commercial prawn pots + pancake weights. Even the downrigger works for pulling up pots apparently. I snagged something while trolling last week. I thought the downrigger braid would break as it was under tremendous strain. I cautiously pulled up the ball and there was a hole pile of rope on it. From there i handlined 4 commercial prawn traps full of sea cucumbers, brittle stars, starfish, bullheads and other stuff. Best part was the traps were covered in scallops.

I have one outlet port and one stbd in the aft lazarette on my R25SC ... works really good for my pot puller ... no issues.
