I was wondering if anybody has plumbed in hot and cold fresh water to the washdown hose in the cockpit of the 23,,, seems to me that it might be nice to have a deck shower in summer instead of fussing with the one in the bow/head ? maybe a couple simple valves to switch over to iether fresh or salt ! Any thoughts on that ?
Or maybe a long shower hose that fits onto the gally sink tap??

I installed a transom shower C26.Finding a good location for it is the hardest part. The plumbing is the easy part. I wanted H/C shower so elected for fresh water. The transom shower has worked well when we are Cruising. We can and do shower in the wet head but prefer not to. The added transom shower converts the swim platform into our shower stall if anchored remotely. This winter I have started making a portable shower stall. The top section ( shower curtain rod) will attach to the aft portion of the Bimini top and the bottom Sunbrella privacy shower curtains will snap to the swim platform. For us the transom shower is not an option it is a necessity. Ranger Tugs is now using the same transom shower insert that I installed.

This was the only location I could install the shower for good access to the swim platform.

This is a smaller version( ITC Stainless Steel Transom Shower
ITEM: 300612 ) Overtons sells it. This will fit in the R23 but would require the Mixing valve H/C to be installed under the deck accessing it through the deck hatch. The on/off valve is in the shower head.

Brian has "non-typical" technical and mechanical skills. For the rest of us, the plumbing was complicated and rewarding. We added a freshwater wash-down on Charlie Rock. I suggest measuring 4 times, not twice, and consider the full installed diameter of the housing and the space below the speaker. You are cutting a large hole in your boat. The kit requires a specific size of hole saw. Home depot was close but not exact. That was another amazon buy. I installed this mod on the starboard side of the transom, under the speaker. The mixer valve was amazon (you can find references on tugnuts search). Everything else was Pex/Sharkbite valves. I went with barb and clamps vs push-in. Just personal preference for a system under light pressure load and below my water line. I tapped in under the hot water heater (required un-bolting and lifting that out to get a clean install. Beyond the mixer valve i also added a shutoff valve. This was great for rinsing off on the swim-step after we moved to Florida and salt water. Works great. Generator means we have access to hot water. We haven't considered Brian's shower stall, but Canaveral is warmer than Racine, and we aren't shy.

Pics in my "washdown" album.

I have the Whale cockpit shower, it has a much smaller footprint. https://www.whalepumps.com/Marine/produ ... eck-Shower
I plumbed a mixing valve at the water heater so it takes care of the galley, head and the cockpit shower. There is a pic of the mixing valve in my photo album.
