Columbia River Gathering August 14-15-16

It’s been talked about for a long time and here it is!

The newest Cutwater Dealer in the Northwest, Sundance Yachts and Marina (our home marina) is hosting a Gathering of Tugs and Cutwaters for the weekend of August 14-15-16.

Come on over to Hayden Island, North Portland Inner Harbor, at the end of the Tomahawk Island side beginning around 3 pm on Friday and enjoy free berthage through breakfast on Sunday morning. Meals are still being organized, but we will eat! We are also expecting visitors from Kent.

Planning is still in progress, but events will include a tug-cutter crawl featuring the special NorthWest Edition of the Cutwater 30! A swap meet, swimming in the lap pool (or river, if you are so inclined), games and other fun are in the works. This can also be the gathering place for any down river cruising that you would like to do. (Astoria anyone?)

Please contact Chelsey Chapman at Sundance Marina and Yacht Sales (chelsey@sundanceyachts.com) to express interest/make reservations. And please feel free to post on this thread.

Thank you, Lenny, for the headsup. It is great that Fluid Motion has selected Sundance as an Oregon dealer and service center. Sounds like it will be a good weekend gathering and getting acquainted with Sundance.

Great news Lenny and Louise!

Thank you for organizing. Sundance is a great stop for those Interested in Columbia River cruising. A great ramp to put your boat in is just a mile or so away and I bet if you wanted sundance would arrange for some longer term parking for your rig. Beacon Rock, hood river, portland, st helens to name a few are just a short ride away.....

Sounds great and you don't have to tow your boat through Seattle. The Poet's Cove trip was great however.

Sundance started a new thread on this. Take a look! We think it is going to be a great time

Thank you Lenny & Louise for helping us spread the word for this event! We are so excited to be hosting this Cutwater and Ranger Rug Rendezvous and we look forward to seeing you all there! Below is our original post with details regarding the event. We would love to see you all there, please don't forget to RSVP to haley@sundanceyachts.com.

Sundance Marina is so excited to host our first ever Cutwater and Ranger Tug Rendezvous! The fun will begin at 3:00 pm Friday, August 14th and will extend through the early afternoon on Sunday, August 16th. We are conveniently located on Hayden Island, North Portland Inner Harbor, at the end of the Tomahawk Island side on the Columbia River.

Come help us ROCK THE DOCK with our live 50's band, catered meals, exciting beach games, and more! Come ready to win because we have some great prizes set aside for our beach games and activities. Start brushing up on your cornhole game, shake the dust of that poodle skirt, and slip on those dancing shoes because this will be a party you won't want to miss!

Please visit our website (sundanceyachts.com) to get an idea of all the amenities we will have available to you all weekend long. We encourage you to take a dip in our lap pool, relax in our hot tub, lounge on our patio, or work off last night's food & beer in our fitness center. We also have full bathrooms with showers and changing rooms as well as an air conditioned rec room where you can unwind in front of a cabled-in flat screen TV.

We will be providing catered meals (Cutwater will be sponsoring the Saturday night dinner) and drinks all weekend long.

We are still planning the final details but are taking reservations now! Please reserve your spot by emailing Haley Chapman at Haley@sundanceyachts.com as soon as possible.

We will post more as the details become finalized. We can't wait to see you all here!

On behalf of Sundance Marina and Yacht Sales I would like to thank everyone for coming to our Cutwater and Ranger Tug Rendezvous! We had such a great time and it was such an honor to meet all of you! We hopefully will try to make this an annual tradition and would love to see you all again next year!

I would like to thank all of the people at Sundance Marina for a great time on the Columbia River. You certainly have a first class operation along with the terrific people that make it work. Thanks also to Ranger Tugs for your contributions.
Question, Where can one buy the banana nut bread that was served?
Regards
Don

Many thanks to Geri, Haley and the Sundance staff as well as to Andrew and all the Ranger/Cutwater folks for a really good time!

Agreed. Thank you all for such a nice time. Sorry we had to cut it short.

Nice to meet so many nice new folks as well.

Cheers!

The Sundance Crew (Geri and all others) were terrific hosts. Thank you all so much for your generous hospitality. We had a good time, and it was great to finally meet a bunch of other Portland area tug owners face to face, as well as reconnect with a few we had met before. To the factory crew that came -- Andrew, Kenny, and Ivan -- thanks, guys, for being there. You've become family.

We look forward to future gatherings. The Portland contingency is growing - yay!!
