We are installing an Air Head composting toilet on our C28. For those with experience… is there a preferred location to run the vent line? It looks like it could be run to the topside or out the starboard side. I don’t see any other access to the exterior that we can tie into. Also, when we pull out the old waste lines from our old electric head I assume we need to access these via the cave? I’ve never removed any panels down there. I assume we just unscrew the few tiny screws I see to remove the monkey fur panels? It’s a pretty tiny crawl space down there. Any tips for this process greatly appreciated!

I installed one in my R-27 so not the same boat. I was able to create a hole for the vent right in the back of the unit. Then a hole through the liner behind the head and snake the hose under the floor through the starboard lazzarett and exit out the stern just starboard of the door to the swim platform. The exhaust fan was installed right under the gunnel at the outlet hole and a stainless clamshell to finish on the stern. Worked great! The fan ran 24/7 and no noise. When not on the boat I pulled the fuse to avoid battery drain. Send me you e-mail and if I still have install pictures I will send.
