Compressed Air Tug Whistle

OK. Our R29 is under construction. Only one option missing...a C# tug whistle. Has anyone added an air whistle to their tug? We found one on the Kahlenberg Industries website (Industrial Sound Signals # 115 AMP), but no info on cost or connections to compact 12 VDC compressors w/ tank.

The Tug dealer in Alameda, Ca. specs these for all their tugs and are installed at the factory, it is a pricey option.

You can build a better/louder/more-musical horn from the dumpster for almost nothing.
Here is the very basics: Kind of lame instructions but does the job.
Needs a very minimal amount of air.

Being a do it yourself guy, I'm thinking a trumpet or trombone from the pawn shop (a broken one) and cut off 18" of the bell end and then fabricate a diaphragm and air chamber

Air horns for sale on ebay you search for: nathan horn, air horn, train horn, leslie horn. Cost around 500 to 1200 dollars but Extremely loud.

There's also a very nice deep-toned satisfying sounding two-trumpet horn powered by a 12V (or 24V) electric compressor called the FIAMM Fultone II. I've had two over the years. There's one on eBay for $170. Far better than the all-electric horns, and much less costly than the Kahlenbergs etc.

I have an air whistle I will be removing from my R21 Classic. I'm not an air whistle afficianado, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night....(drum roll, cymbals). Send me a PM. U pay postage and you get to test drive it. U like it, my people, talk to your people and we make an "arrangement". (90 bucks, it's yours) If you do'nt like the sound, send it back and I'll ebay it.
