Anyone done this on an R25 ? 1st mate has asked me to place this at the top of our boat's wish list. 😉

I had asked Jeff Messmer about this and he said with a smile to simply trade up to an R27 as an electric head is standard fare. 😉 😉 😉

Jeff knows how to sell boats. 😎

I lamented that my boat did not have an electric head... and then I met a man who had no boat.

BTW, on the Sealand head in our C-Dory, we put a ball valve on the water supply line; it helps to keep from using too much water on any given flush. Depending on how much time one spends away from a pump out, conservation counts. Not all flushes are created equal. 😉

Best wishes,
Jim B.

I've done it and it works great. I'll have to put together something that shows the steps and pics of what we did to get it done. PM me with your email and contact info and I'll send the info off to you.

Long story short, you don't have to replace the whole thing, just the base. Wiring wasn't too bad but the outlet hose was a little tricky.

Looks like it will.... But 25 amps?? That sucker must have a heated  seat!!

What Baz said ! We found that buying a whole new electric head was just about as cost effective as a "conversion kit" for the Jabsco . Raritan makes some nice thrones .Jabsco has a new one that's called the "lite flush" 400 bucks at defender .You need the raw water type.

What are the weak links in the electric head ?

What are the components that are most likely to fail and how difficult is it to repair them ?

Keep Your Head

Note here - "Some marine writers advocate pour- ing a little vegetable oil or mineral oil down the toilet to keep those valves supple, and to “lubricate the leathers” of the manual pump plunger if the unit has one. However, the nationʼs foremost expert on marine heads, a woman by the name of Peggy Hall who runs a consulting firm special- izing in all matters pertaining to boat toilets, directly contradicts this advice."
