corrosion on drains r31cb 2020

portside drains showing signs of rust where fitting meets hull, esp shower sump drain; have pic, can't figure out how to post. What is cause? Don't like signs of potential failure on a waterline hull opening.

Hi there,

No one can really answer the question as to the cause of the rust unless they were able to see it in person. Try and see what it takes to remove the rust. You can start with some stainless polish and see where it goes from there. If you can give more information as to how deep the rust is or whether the metal is starting to degrade, etc. we may be able to provide more help.
