Can anyone give me an estimated cost to ship a R29 from Vancouver/Seattle to Jackson, Fl - or a ballpark $/mile for shipping. We are starting to plan doing the Great Loop. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have heard anywhere from $1.50 to $2.00 per mile. Best bet is to call shippers and get current quotes. With that said, if you are doing it in the fall why not save mileage and ship the boat somewhere up on the Tennessee River. The usual route is to go south on the Rivers and north on the east coast in the spring.

Mike brings up a good point about the destination. A Florida shipping might indicate that you’ll start your Great Loop in the April time frame? If that’s the case consider shipping to Manitowac, Wisconsin...which is on Lake Michigan in the late spring and spend the summer Door County, Wisc., Northern Michigan, etc then join the Loop migration south onto the rivers late August, early Sept. Do your Loop and end back in Manitowac, Wisconsin the following late spring/early summer. Why Manitowac you might ask? MANITOWAC is the shortest distance from Seattle and therefore will cost you the least amount of money for not only the trip east but back to the PNW, with the bonus of spending a summer in the beautiful fresh waters of the Great Lakes. Manitowac Marine has a launch ramp, travel lift and they are a Cutwater dealer with marina dock space.
