I live in SW Washington and recently got our R29 and am looking to get shrimp pots and understand that Costco has them on occasion, but they don't advertise them. I am hoping that if someone see's them at Costco, (in the PNW) could let me know.
I would appreciate it very much

Thank you
Dave

I live in Seattle and haven't often seen them at the Seattle area locations but will check this weekend. I think they tend to be at the locations further up north by the San Juans / Canadian border.

These usually hit the shelves mid-April. Best bets are Olympia north along I-5 and then the Woodinville warehouse.

Definitely slightly off topic but a better and space saving alternative is the combined crab and prawn trap from Pro Marine. They are stainless steel and twist and fold flat into a small package (about 16 inches across maybe) and we have had great success with them prawning. We are also using the thin line system (also space saving). This has been super helpful on our small R23. More expensive but multi-purpose and tiny to store. Here is a link: https://promarineproducts.com/collectio ... combo-trap

Up in the San Juan Islands with the currents you need a weighted pot.

That good price of a crab/shrimp pot may not be that great of a deal if you can't retrieve it!
It's estimated that 12 to 20% of crab and shrimp pots are lost every year in the PNW, the WDFW says that is over 12,000 pots in the Puget Sound area alone! Reporting derelict/lost gear is required within 48 hours along with rot cords and escape doors on all pots used. I've talked to a lot of crab and shrimpers that have said there pots were stolen, but when asked how much weight was in there pots all I get is a dumb look! Have fun and protect our waters for future use Bob

Hi Dave
Pro tip: pretend you are ordering same day delivery through instacart at one of the warehouses (have to enter a nearby address) and it should show you inventory. Not positive about a short time product like the pots, but worth a try.
