Just getting acquainted with a new Yanmar 4jh110. Wondering whether some things are typical or decisions made by installer.

1) Is your ECM mounted on the engine or remote(bulkhead etc)?
2) Is the power supplied to your ECM directly from battery or through a switch?
3) Have you found a source for technical manuals(installation, etc) more than just the owner's manual supplied with the unit?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

I have had a Yanmar 4JH110 in my RT25SC for over 3 years. Love it! To answer your questions:
1. ECM mounted to engine
2. ECM is direct to battery with separate breaker. Starter is thru the engine switch.
3. Not looked for installation instructions. I had installation done by yard that builds boats and installation certified by Yanmar dealer.

Thanks for the reply. We just rolled over 100 hours on our last trip. I like what I've seen so far.

Did your installer run a cable direct from the alternator to battery/buss per a typical installation?

Sorry getting back so late. I have been busy installing new electronics and with the boat an hour away from where I live I have focused on the installation. I did this weekend try and trace the cable from the alternator and so far not been able to determine where it is terminated. When I figure it out I will let you know.
