This weekend we launched Coventina an R29. Our home port will be on the Hudson river in the town of Athens a few miles south of Albany, NY.

Coventina was purchased from Peter Haywood, Winter Island Yacht Yard, Salem, MA. I purchased a trailer with the boat and hauled her home without incident.

We look forward to crusing the Hudson, the Champlain and Erie canals, and trips to NY City and the Long Island sound. With the trailer we also plan trips to the Thousand Islands, along the coast of Main, and wherever else we desire.

Hope to see you on the water.

Welcome aboard, Todd and Laura on Coventina, from the beautiful San Juan Islands of WA.

Gus the dog and I got a late start today but are tugging along celebrating the beginning of summer and looking forward to wonderful times with this boat. No need to rush once aboard!

These are great tugs, very comfortable and the group is very helpful.

Enjoy your great boat!

How did you cope with the highway permits? Did you need to get one for each State that you crossed?

Had to get 3 permits. One fo Mass. One for NY. and one for the NY Thruway, a limited access toll road. Total cost 65.00

There are several permit companies, Google, that will make all the arangements for you with just one call so it is easy.

Dodge 3500 deisel had no trouble pulling the load and 10 feet is not that wide. I pull trailers every day for work so I do have a lot of experience.

My wife and I just completed two weeks on the Erie Canal and enjoyed it greatly. We crossed Lake Cayuga (?) and found three wineries that have docking facilities and will even pick you up and return you and your loot to your boat. All but one of the places we stayed overnight were excellent. Congrats on the new boat Peter and the Winter Island Yacht Yard crew render excellent after sales support.

You are going to love cruising the canals. My wife and I have done the Erie and Champlain. The Hudson is a georgeous river to cruise on. Welcome aboard. Perhaps we will see you at the Essex,ct rendezvous.

Welcome to the fleet! I'm a neighbor just up the road in Albany and my Tug lives at Harris Bay Yacht Club on Lake George from April thru October. Haven't done the canals yet....looking for the woman of my dreams to travel and share with me, but haven't found her yet. Together is so much more fun than alone! Best wishes for much fun and happiness with your Tug. If you are ever in the Lake George area, I would be delighted to give you the tour!
