Cover for custom cut memory foam topperfor v berth

Factory v berth cushion are just too hard for us to sleep comfortably. Plan on buying a costco memory foam topper and cutting it to sit on top of factory cushion. Any suggestions welcome and specically suggestions for covering foam

I made a custom slip cover that is water proof, cut it down from a queen size pad. The reason for this type of cover is if the forward hatch is left open by guests (the captain would never forget to close it 😳 ), rain or snow would not soak the foam which takes forever to dry. But by all means cover the foam, its easier to horse it around, or otherwise it will get torn and or dirty.

We cut the memory foam with an electric knife using the standard cushions as a template. We had a canvas guy cover them with Sunbrella canvas and had zippers installed so we could pull the foam and wash the covers.

If you use Sunbrella, ask for furniture Sunbrella, it has a softer finish and will give better on the memory foam. ( prettier patterns and color selections. )
