Went to do a shake down run on my C30 for my mods.

1) New 870 watt solar kept tripping the 80 amp circuit breaker I installed between the Victron 150/70 smartsolar charge controller and the battery. Kept tripping at 50-54 amps, nowhere near 80 amps (cannot make that much).
1) Later on the drive, solar blew off the roof. Lost my 2 435 watt panels.
2) Raw water strainer bolt broke off while in the water. Fills up fast with no lid on it. Shutoff was only 12" away, thank God.
3) Brake caliper bolt came out on the drive. Jammed the caliper to inside of trailer rim.
4) Brake caliper pin sheared off on drive home. Jammed caliper to inside of different rim.
5) New Vesper Marine AIS GPS sees 12 satellites strongly, but will not lock onto them. Thus no GPS for AIS and anchor alarm.

Dam crappy 5 day trip.

On the other hand...
1) Inductive cooking is the bee's knees! Really low heat in the cabin, and cooks fast!
2) Kicker motor on the boat works good.
3) Dinghy works fine.
4) Shower door works great after shaving about 1/4 to 3/8 off the bottom door which was jamming in the shower track.
5) 3000 watt Xantex inverter put out 100 amps to batteries! Nice and fast compared to factory 55 amps.

Did you use Vesper's GPS antenna or try to reroute/piggyback off the factory one?

Vesper marine's. It came in the kit. Also ran their included GPS cable. What a pain in the arse.... and it doesn't work.
Vesper shows a yellow/orange light on the AIS which the manual says acquiring....except its been acquiring for days.
Vesper online manual says to use their GPS, so I did.
Garmins AIS 600 also says to use their GPS antenna.

Oh no!! If it's any consolation, I have had boat days that were similarly frustrating, so much so that I swore to "sell it if this doesn't change!"

Luckily it not only changed every time, but has gotten better over time as things are discovered and improved -- have had no such swearing for a year or so now. I know that might change any day!

In any case, thank you for letting us learn with you along with such issues, and best wishes for a better day tomorrow.
